List of Software Titles
Software titles can be accessed in multiple ways on the SSC Network and at Western. Below is a fairly comprehensive list of the software that is available for Social Science users. There may be multiple ways to access various software depending on your role or the computer that you use. Check our list of user room or remote access preinstalled software.
Graphic Applications
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs, or install through the Microsoft Campus Agreement.
Internet Tools
- PuTTY for SSH Secure Shell: Available for installation from the WTS site license page
- WinSCP for SFTP: Available for installation from the WTS site license page
Marking
- Marks Management System: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs or Install from web)
- ScanExam: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs or Install from web)
Microsoft
- Microsoft Windows Operating System Upgrade/Downgrade: Microsoft Campus Agreement
- Microsoft Office (Includes Access, Excel, InfoPath, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word): Microsoft Campus Agreement or Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs
- Adobe Acrobat Reader: Install from web
- Ghostscript: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs
- GSView: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs
Specialty
- ArcGIS: Request installation from SSTS or an installation kit can be signed out from WTS through an WTS site license
- MikTeX 2.7: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs
- Notepad ++: Install from web
- Qualtrics for Surveys: Web based
Statistics and Analysis
- EQS: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs
- GraphPad Prism: Use directly from the Statistics and Analysis folder in the SSC Network Menu
- HLM: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs
- IBM SPSS Statistics: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs. A site license version can be purchased through the Campus Computer Store for your laptop, Mac or home computer.
- Maple: Available for installation through an WTS site license
- MatLab: Use directly from the Statistics and Analysis/Matlab folder in the SSC Network Menu for students, or available for installation through an WTS site license for others
- MPlus: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs
- NVivo: This is installed on public computers and is available as a site license purchase for students and Faculty or staff through the Campus Computer Store.
- R: Install from web.
- SAS: Install on your SSC Network computer using Add-Remove Programs and obtain a license file through WTS site license, where you can also obtain a copy for installation on other computers.
- Stata IC Student: Use directly from the Statistics and Analysis folder in the SSC Network Menu
- Stata SE: Use directly from the Statistics and Analysis folder in the SSC Network Menu
Web Development
- Cascade Content Management System: This is a Web based tool at cms.uwo.ca.
