Adding Programs from the Network
Software such as MS Office, Acrobat, SPSS, etc. must be pre-installed to the local computer before use. Social Science users can add programs to their computer by clicking:
Start > All Programs (All Apps) > SSC Network > Add-Remove Programs > Add New Programs
Software installed from the network is placed on the local hard drive and made available to Windows. In the case of Social Science faculty and staff, you must be a local Administrator on your computer to install software. Students may install programs on computers in the SSTS Teaching & Computing Rooms but must keep in mind that all additional software will be automatically removed when the computer is restarted.
