This issue of our newsletter is the first under our new name, Social Science Network and Data Services. The unit was officially renamed in April of 2005 although the logistics for retiring 32 prior years of the name Social Science Computing Laboratory is just now coming to completion.

Our new name better characterizes the department's role for providing a wide variety of technology services throughout the Social Science Centre Network. It also highlights our innovative roles for the delivery of data services. Our name has changed, but our tradition for excellence in supporting the Faculty of Social Science technology remains as always.
