SSC Network Update

New Teaching Room & Upgrades to Existing Ones

With assistance from the SSC Student Levy Fund, SSCL converted another one of its Undergraduate Computing Rooms (SSC 1014) into a teaching room, in preparation for the enrolment bulge in 2003. A new 2600-lumen projector was purchased with the Levy money and installed in our largest teaching room - 1032 (52 student micros; 1 instructor micro); this new projector is 2.5 times brighter than the one previously used in Room 1032. This allowed us to relocate projectors to Teaching Rooms 1000, 1014 and 1030. Features of Room 1014:

SVGA (800 x 600) projector (with embedded speakers) which is connected to an IBM-compatible multimedia instructor’s micro
Projection screen
18 high-speed IBM-compatible computers, plus 1 instructor station
Chalk board
Adjustable overhead lighting
