Retiring Student SSCNET Access

SSC remote access servers are being retired. Access for undergraduate
students will be terminated February 18, 2014, and they are encouraged to use
MyVLab. Access termination dates for graduate
students will be announced pending software availability.

Software License Purchases

When you purchase software licenses for
your Western-owned computer, please scan a copy of the
license and send it to
ssts-help@uwo.ca. This will help us be
prepared for future audits, and will also allow us to help
you if your computer requires reinstallation or replacement.

Data Classification and Security

Standards for data
security have been recently posted on Western's Information Security website.
These standards apply to all staff, students, faculty, vendors
and contractors. There are examples to help you classify
your data, and instructions for handling the data securely.
This data includes student records, employee data, and
research data to name a few. Each unit is responsible for
ensuring that the minimum standards of data handling and
security are met. The cycle of managing your data can
be found on the
Western Security web site.
